How can we use HVO and other sustainable fuels for freight?

It depends on which side of the shipment you are on.

• You run the transport (carrier or freight forwarder): if you buy HVO or other biofuels, sustainable aviation fuel, sustainable marine fuel or battery-electric transport, SQUAKE turns that intake into emission reduction credits and helps you sell them to your customers at shipment level. • You ship goods: ask your carrier or forwarder whether they offer low-emission transport through SQUAKE. Their certificate documents the reduction for each shipment, with its methodology and the underlying fuel batch, so you can use it in your Scope 3 reporting.

Reductions are calculated and allocated following ISO 14083 and the Smart Freight Centre framework. Each reduction is booked against verified fuel supply only once, so it is never sold twice.
