UK Government hotel factors
One factor per country for an occupied hotel room per night, published with the UK Government's conversion factors. In recent factor sets, the values are country medians from the Cornell Hotel Sustainability Benchmarking Index.
- Publisher
- UK Government (DESNZ)
- Best for
- UK-based reporting of hotel stays
- Result
- One total for all the room-nights
- Energy scope
- Hotel operations
- Factor year
- Selectable; latest supported year by default
How it works
- SQUAKE uses the UK Government factor for the hotel's country.
- London is the only city with its own factor.
- Recent factor sets use the rooms footprint of the Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative (HCMI). Older sets used averages of the whole-hotel footprint, so results across that change are not like for like.
Trip details used
When a detail is missing, SQUAKE uses the default.
| Detail | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Room-nights | Required | One room for one night counts as 1. |
| Country | United Kingdom | |
| City | None | Only London has its own factor. |
