Train methodology
CO₂-emissiefactoren
Dutch emission factor list
Factors per passenger-km from the Dutch reference list of emission factors, for Dutch trains (average, electric or diesel) and for international trains.
- Publisher
- CO2emissiefactoren.nl
- Best for
- Rail travel in and from the Netherlands
- Result
- One total per trip, for all travellers
- Energy scope
- WTW by default, TTW optional
- Factor year
- Selectable; latest supported year by default
How it works
- Well-to-wheel covers producing and using the energy. The Dutch list counts the electricity for electric and international trains as upstream emissions, so their tank-to-wheel value is zero.
- Older Dutch factor sets count electric trains as zero because the operators use green electricity. The latest set gives them a small value.
Trip details used
When a detail is missing, SQUAKE uses the default.
